Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Passport will be offered in three trim levels: RTL, TrailSport, and TrailSport Elite. Look for Honda’s updated 3.5-liter V6 engine to provide 285 horsepower. A new ten-speed automatic transmission will manage the standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. This second-generation i-VTM4 system will have 40% more torque capacity and a 30% faster response than the current version. When the Passport is properly equipped, it will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds. Cargo space will expand to 83.5 cubic feet behind the front row.

Standard Features

The RTL will serve as the Passport’s entry point, featuring Body Stabilizing heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power tailgate. This trim will also have LED lighting, black exterior accents, matte-black rocker panels, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, a 10.2-inch driver information display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an oversized center console bin, wireless device charging, two USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The additional features for the TrailSport will be off-road-focused equipment, including a trail-tuned suspension, General Grabber all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, and orange-painted recovery hooks. It will also have synthetic leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching, a panoramic sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, a heated windshield, all-season floor mats, LED fog lights mounted high in the fascia, and trim-specific 18-inch wheels.

At the top of the Passport hierarchy, the TrailSport Elite will get perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Smart Entry, rear-seat climate controls and door shades, and expanded ambient cabin lighting. A trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector will be standard on both TrailSport variants, featuring integrated recovery points and fascia protection.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

The Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assist features will receive enhancements in the 2026 Passport. Expanded camera and radar coverage improves the system’s automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams. The TrailSport Elite will add TrailWatch, a camera system providing multiple views with tire path graphics for enhanced off-road navigation. All three trims will get an updated array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill descent control, and a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Passport’s new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is 54% larger than last year’s. The system will feature Google built-in services (including popular apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot with a complimentary three-year unlimited data subscription. The RTL and TrailSport will have a multi-speaker sound system while the TrailSport Elite will upgrade to a Bose unit with 12 speakers.
