Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Passport is available in seven trims: RTL, RTL Towing, RTL Blackout, TrailSport, TrailSport Blackout, TrailSport Elite, and TrailSport Elite Blackout. Their reworked 3.5-liter V6 engine makes 285 horsepower, while a new ten-speed automatic transmission manages the standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. This second-generation i-VTM4 system has 40% more torque capacity and a 30% faster response than the previous version.

When the Passport is properly equipped, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Cargo space starts at 44.0 cubic feet behind the second row and expands to 104.6 cubic feet (104.4 cubic feet for the TrailSport Elite Blackout) behind the front row. The three RTL trims are EPA-rated to achieve 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The four TrailSport versions have fuel economy estimates of 18 mpg around town and 23 mpg on the open road.

Standard Features

The well-equipped base RTL has leather and cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a ten-way power driver’s seat, a four-way power front passenger seat, a power tailgate, tri-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, key fob-activated remote start, and an integrated drive mode system (settings: Normal/Econ/Sport/Snow/Tow/Trail/Sand). It also comes with heated power side mirrors, black roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient LED cabin lighting, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, four USB ports (two per row), wireless device charging, and 18-inch wheels. The RTL Towing trim adds a Class III trailer hitch and wiring harness. The RTL Blackout is equipped similarly to the entry-level RTL but features black-finish exterior treatments and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The TrailSport adds off-road-focused equipment, including a trail-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, LED fog lights, a Class III trailer hitch with wiring harness, a rear camera washer, and orange-painted recovery hooks. This ruggedized trim also gets upscale elements, like a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching, power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a heated windshield, LED daytime running lights (amber), and all-season floor mats. The TrailSport Blackout shares the regular TrailSport’s equipment list but adds black exterior treatments and unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

The TrailSport Elite expands on the TrailSport trim with perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, a hands-free tailgate with walk-away close, five-door proximity keyless entry, a sound-reducing windshield, rear door sunshades, auto-dimming side mirrors, a front camera washer, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The TrailSport Elite Blackout brings black-finished exterior treatments to the TrailSport Elite.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

The Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance tech is standard on all trims and is improved for 2026 with enhanced camera and radar systems. These comprehensive systems include collision mitigation braking (with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection), lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, blind-spot monitoring with lane change assist, cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams.

The TrailSport Elite and Elite Blackout have a surround-view monitor and TrailWatch, a camera system providing expanded off-road views. All trims get an updated array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill descent control, trailer stability assist, and a rearview monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Passport’s new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is 54% larger than the previous version. It features Google built-in services (including popular apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, access to the HondaLink smartphone app, and 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability with a complimentary three-year unlimited data subscription. Most trims have a nine-speaker audio system, but it’s upgraded to a 12-speaker Bose arrangement in the TrailSport Elite and Elite Blackout.
