Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid is presented in four trims: Sport, TrailSport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring. Each is powered by Honda’s fourth-generation two-motor hybrid system, which combines a responsive 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) to deliver a total system output of 204 horsepower. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard in the Sport and Sport-L, while AWD – which is standard in the TrailSport and Sport Touring – is optional. As another new feature for 2026, CR-V Hybrids with AWD receive an enhanced low-speed traction control system to improve stability and grip in challenging conditions.

According to official EPA estimates, FWD versions of the Sport and Sport-L return 43 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. AWD reduces those figures slightly to 40 mpg city/34 mpg highway, which is also what you’ll get with the AWD-exclusive Sport Touring. The TrailSport, with its standard AWD and off-road upgrades, is rated at a still-excellent 38 mpg city/33 mpg highway, making it ideal for those who crave adventure without sacrificing efficiency.

Standout Features

Honda stocks the entry-level Sport with an array of must-have amenities, including heated front seats (power adjustable for the driver), a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a one-touch power moonroof, push-button start, ambient interior lighting (white), a 7-inch driver information display, multiple USB ports (one Type-A data and three Type-C charging), and a drive mode selector with settings for Sport, Normal, Econ, and Snow. This trim also gets Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, power-adjustable heated side mirrors with LED turn indicators, roof rails, auto-on/off LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, and rear privacy glass. Honda’s Eco Assist System is also included to provide real-time feedback and adjust vehicle performance to maximize fuel economy.

The new TrailSport is rigged for adventure with chunky all-terrain tires and standard AWD. It also boasts a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power tailgate, unique amber ambient interior lighting, and gloss-black exterior accents. The Sport-L builds on the base Sport with several upgrades borrowed from the TrailSport, including the power tailgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. It also adds upscale touches like leather upholstery, position memory for the driver’s seat, and a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat.

At the top of the lineup, the Sport Touring also comes with AWD and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The standard features exclusive to this trim are rain-sensing windshield wipers, a hands-free liftgate, a customizable Individual setting (added to the drive mode selector), and a predictive version of Eco Assist.

Advanced Safety Systems

Every ‘26 CR-V Hybrid has the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety technologies installed to give drivers more confidence and protection on the road. The standard components are collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. For added convenience, the Sport-L and Sport Touring also come with front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control.

Infotainment and Connectivity

All four members of the ‘26 CR-V Hybrid lineup are treated to a brand-new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, where it used to be reserved for the higher trims. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have also been added as part of this mid-cycle refresh. Every trim also gets Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. HD Radio is added to the Sport Touring alone. For audio, the Sport gets a six-speaker system, while the TrailSport and Sport-L upgrade to an eight-speaker setup. At the top of the lineup, the Sport Touring delivers the pinnacle of audio quality with a Bose upgrade that has twelve speakers and a built-in subwoofer.
