2026 Honda Civic Si

2026 Honda
Civic Si

Building on last model year’s exterior styling refresh, the 2026 Honda Civic Si keeps its sharp, athletic look while maintaining the same engaging drive that has defined it for decades. Its one-two punch comes from a gutsy turbocharged engine and a manual transmission – an increasingly rare feature that sets the Civic Si apart. It’s a successful formula for someone looking to split the difference between the mainstream Civic lineup and the over-the-top Civic Type R.

Underscoring the Civic Si’s appeal is last year’s five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the complimentary Honda Maintenance Program, which includes one year of standard scheduled services like oil changes, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections. Look for our separate coverage of the Civic Sedan, the Civic Hatchback, and the performance-focused Civic Type R.

Trim and Powertrain

The Si is a one-trim variant of the Civic sedan that gets a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a 200-horsepower output. The sole transmission, a six-speed manual gearbox, sends power to the front axle, and a standard helical limited-slip differential enhances traction. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 27 mpg in city driving and 37 mpg on the open road. The trunk capacity is 14.4 cubic feet, giving the Civic Si storage capability comparable to that of larger sedans.

Standard Features

The Civic Si's spirited handling characteristics are supported by a sport-tuned chassis, selectable drive modes (Normal/Sport/Individual), a MacPherson strut front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension. As a simplified singular trim, it combines its sporty personality with a long roster of standard premium equipment, such as a power moonroof, heated front seats, automatic climate control, a 10.2-inch digital instrument display, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, and LED exterior lighting with automatic headlamps. The Si’s athletic features are showcased with unique red-and-black cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminum shift knob, sport pedals, a decklid spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels in matte black. On the practical side, there’s a 60/40-split folding rear seat, remote trunk release, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and two USB ports. Honda offers numerous personalization options, including the HPD (Honda Performance Development) Package, which adds underbody spoilers and some other exterior upgrades.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Honda Sensing is also standard on the 2026 Civic Si. This collection of sophisticated driver aids consists of forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, road departure mitigation, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Also standard are automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a rear seat reminder, an array of airbags, stability control, traction control, and a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A 9-inch touchscreen is the multimedia command center in the Civic Si. This Google-based platform brings together wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, a text-messaging assistant, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and the Google app suite (Google Assistant, Google Maps, and downloadable apps via Google Play), with a complimentary three-year unlimited data plan. A 12-speaker Bose system handles the audio. Access to HondaLink connected services is also standard.
