Trims and Powertrain
Honda has split the Civic’s usual five trim levels between the hybrid and non-hybrid, with the conventional powertrain getting the LX and Sport. Their main mechanical specs consist of a front-wheel-drivetrain, a 150-horsepower four-cylinder engine, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The higher trim level (Sport) gets paddle shifters. The EPA’s official fuel economy estimations show the LX as achieving 32 mpg in city driving and 41 mpg on the highway, while the Sport dips just a tad to 31 city/39 highway. Both trims get a drive-mode selector with settings labeled Normal and Econ, but the higher trim adds a third mode called Sport.
