2026 Honda Civic Sedan

2026 Honda
Civic Sedan

There’s something about the Honda Civic that makes it so lovable. It’s dependable, affordable, nice-looking, and good on gas. These essential qualities have made it a best-seller for decades, and model year 2026 surely won’t be any different. Coming off last year’s appearance updates (a revised fascia and grille), the ’26 Civic retains all of those aforementioned attributes that have attracted legions of buyers year after year. Honda packs both gasoline-only trims with features for convenience and comfort, such as automatic climate control and power-adjustable side-view mirrors. The 7-inch infotainment system is big enough without being distracting, and it nine sophisticated driver-assist technologies come standard within the Honda Sensing suite. Drivers seeking a performance-inspired feel and look can opt for the Sport trim’s paddle shifters, sport pedals, and alloy wheels. There is also a hybrid edition of the Civic Sedan, with three highly equipped trim levels, which we devote a separate overview to. This page discusses only the traditional combustion-engine 2026 Civic Sedan.

Trims and Powertrain

Honda has split the Civic’s usual five trim levels between the hybrid and non-hybrid, with the conventional powertrain getting the LX and Sport. Their main mechanical specs consist of a front-wheel-drivetrain, a 150-horsepower four-cylinder engine, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The higher trim level (Sport) gets paddle shifters. The EPA’s official fuel economy estimations show the LX as achieving 32 mpg in city driving and 41 mpg on the highway, while the Sport dips just a tad to 31 city/39 highway. Both trims get a drive-mode selector with settings labeled Normal and Econ, but the higher trim adds a third mode called Sport.

Trims and Amenities

The LX has what it needs, plus a few extras. That list includes fabric-upholstered and manually adjustable front seats, a pair of USB-C ports, power-adjustable exterior mirrors, automatic climate control (one zone), push-button start, automatic-up/down front windows, a sliding center-console armrest, LED exterior lighting (headlights with automatic-on/off, taillights, daytime running lights, brake lights, and side marker lights), a 7-inch digital instrument meter, a 12V power outlet, a fold-down rear seatback, and 16-inch wheels with covers.

The Sport changes up the look a little bit with chrome exhaust ends, heated exterior mirrors with black caps, and 18-inch alloy wheels with a gloss-black finish. It also gets remote engine start, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport pedals, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback with a center armrest, a black headliner, and second-row cup holders.

Driver-Assist Technology

Honda Sensing is a standard part of the 2026 Civic Sedan. This advanced driver-assist technology suite contains adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking, traffic sign recognition, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist, and automatic high beams. A blind-spot information system and rear cross-traffic monitor are added to the Sport. Both trims receive a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, and rear seat reminder.

Connectivity Features

Both ‘26 Civic Sedan trims have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB-connected Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The LX gets a 160-watt sound system with four speakers and speed-sensitive volume compensation, while the Sport progresses to a 180-watt sound system with eight speakers. Both trims are set up with Bluetooth (for hands-free smartphone use and audio streaming) and HondaLink Basic, which enables service appointment scheduling, 24-hour roadside assistance, and more.
