You’ll have three trim levels to choose from with the 2025 CR-V: LX, EX, and EX-L. Their powertrain consists of a turbocharged 190-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While front-wheel drive (FWD) is the default, an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) is optional. The CR-V is capable of light towing (up to 1,500 pounds).
One of the reasons behind the CR-V’s longtime popularity is its above-average fuel efficiency, and the official EPA estimations remain excellent. The FWD CR-V achieves an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. With AWD, this changes slightly to 26 city/31 highway.
The base LX mixes basic with comfort in its standard equipment list, with remote keyless entry, single-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights (auto-on/off), LED taillights, push-button ignition, manually adjustable front seats (with height adjustability for the driver), a 60/40-split second-row seatback with a folding center armrest, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, ambient lighting in the center console, a front-row USB data port, power side-view mirrors with built-in turn indicators, rear privacy glass, fabric upholstery, and 17-inch steel wheels with covers. The EX is improved with remote start, proximity keyless entry, a moonroof, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, three USB-C charging ports (one in the front console and two in the second row), heated side-view mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels painted silver. At the top of the gas-only CR-V lineup, the EX-L ramps up the comfort factor with leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, position memory for the driver’s seat, a power front passenger’s seat, a wireless phone charge pad, a power tailgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Honda Sensing is a proprietary safety technology grouping that comes standard on the 2025 CR-V. Its roster consists of adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and rear-seat reminder. The EX and EX-L also get a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert; front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control are added to the top-of-the-line EX-L only.
The LX and EX both come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. There are four speakers in the LX and six in the EX. The EX-L has the most desirable infotainment situation, with a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and a higher-wattage sound system with eight speakers. HondaLink is also standard so that the driver can remotely access a selection of their CR-V’s features using a smartphone.
