All three trims (Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring) have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas-burning engine paired with two electric motors, resulting in a combined 204 horsepower (a 14-hp boost over non-hybrid). Standard front- or available-all-wheel drive can be used with the Sport and Sport-L, while the Sport Touring comes standard with the latter, with power sent through the electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT).
The ride is customizable with the four-mode drive system (Normal, Snow, ECON, and Sport), while the CR-V Hybrid tows up to 1,000 pounds when it is properly equipped. Front-wheel drive versions return an EPA-estimated 43 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the open highway. With all-wheel drive, the ratings are 40 city/34 highway.
The Sport includes a one-touch power moonroof with tilt, cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch driver display, the Smart Entry system with Walk Away Auto Lock, push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, a reclining and folding 60/40 split rear seatback, LED exterior lighting (headlamps, front turn signals, and daytime running lights), heated side mirrors, black roof rails, dual chrome exhaust finishers, and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The Sport-L adds leather upholstery, wireless device charging, a 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, two-position driver’s seat memory, an automatic-dimming rearview mirror, and a power tailgate.
The upgrades for the Sport Touring are a heated steering wheel, a power tailgate with hands-free access, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a satellite-linked navigation system with real-time traffic, HondaLink subscription services, and 19-inch gloss-black alloy wheels.
Honda installs the Sensing driver-assist and safety package in every CR-V Hybrid. The included technologies are automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance, lane keep assist, a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic sign recognition, a cross-traffic monitor, blind-spot monitoring, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The Sport-L and Sport Touring add parking sensors (front and rear) and low-speed braking control.
The Sport has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The upgrades to the higher trims are a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio. While the Sport-L gets an eight-speaker sound system, the Sport Touring moves up to a 12-speaker premium Bose audio system and adds a Wi-Fi hotspot.
