Trims and Powertrains

Honda offers four versions of the 2024 Civic Hatchback: LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring. All versions are front-wheel drive, but there’s a difference under the hood. The LX and Sport are motivated by a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while the EX-L and Sport Touring get a 180-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder powerplant. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is the standard gearbox across the range, but the Sport and Sport Touring are available with a six-speed manual transmission as a no-cost option.

Civic Hatchbacks with the 2.0-liter engine and CVT are EPA rated for 29-30 mpg in the city and 37-38 mpg on the highway (the Sport with the manual gearbox gets 26 city/36 highway). The turbo 1.5-liter engine is rated for 30-31 mpg around town and 37-39 mpg on the open road (the Sport Touring with the six-speed manual gets 28 city/37 highway).

Standard Features

The equipment list for the entry-level LX contains single-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting with automatic headlights, push-button start, power side mirrors, a rear window wiper/washer, a manually adjustable driver’s seat with height controls, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, rear-seat heat/AC ducts, a cargo area cover, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Sport adds proximity keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, sport pedals, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The EX-L brings more premium features to the table, like a power moonroof, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, an eight-way power front driver’s seat, heated power side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Sport Touring combines the athletic touches of the Sport and the comfort and convenience elements of the EX-L. This topmost trim also gets wireless device charging, second-row USB ports, a four-way power front passenger seat, LED fog lights, heated power side mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, rain-sensing windshield wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual exhaust finishers, and 18-inch wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

All Civic Hatchbacks come with Honda Sensing, a collection of advanced driver aids. This slate of technologies includes forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, traffic jam assist (CVT only), adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow (CVT-only for the low-speed follow feature), traffic sign recognition, rear-seat reminder, and automatic high beams. The EX-L and Touring get blind-spot monitoring, while the Sport Touring has a cross-traffic monitor and front and rear parking sensors. The other safety equipment found on every Civic Hatchback includes multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a multi-angle rearview monitor with dynamic guidelines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Infotainment for most 2024 Civic Hatchback trims is handled through a 7-inch touchscreen; the Sport Touring gets a 9-inch system. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a text messaging assistant, and access to HondaLink remote services via a smartphone app come standard on all. The Sport Touring adds navigation. A four-speaker audio system is standard in the LX, while the Sport and EX-L get an eight-speaker version; a Bose 12-speaker sound system is exclusive to the Sport Touring.
