The base EX has a lot of convenient features, starting with dual-zone automatic climate control, heated windshield washer nozzles, heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, proximity entry (Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock), push-button ignition, and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. It also gets heated front seats, ambient interior lighting, rear privacy glass, a moonroof, LED headlights and taillights, a front-console USB-C charging port, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Honda has made the base multimedia system better than ever by giving it a 7-inch touchscreen this time around. The standard infotainment features are smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a six-speaker audio system.
The Honda Sensing suite of advanced driving aids helps to protect the CR-V’s occupants with forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, and traffic sign recognition. The other standard safety features not bundled as part of Honda Sensing are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, a rear-seat reminder, and low-speed braking control.
As the topmost member of this two-trim hierarchy, the EX-L gets a bit more to pamper its passengers. There’s a power liftgate, leather upholstery, front and rear parking sensors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, position memory for the driver’s seat and power adjustments for the front passenger’s seat, and a wireless phone charger. Like the base EX, the EX-L has had its multimedia system upgraded, this time with a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an additional pair of speakers for a total of eight.
