2021 Honda Accord Hybrid for Sale in North Attleboro, MA
The Accord has always been Honda’s flagship sedan, but with the introduction of a hybrid powertrain back in 2014, Honda really gave it an edge. Many hybrid variations of popular sedans have blossomed since, but the Accord Hybrid stands in a league of its own. For 2021, this model receives a standard infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is issued in the EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels. The new model year brings updates to the powertrain – specifically with improved throttle response that provides more satisfying acceleration. Honda’s unique configuration allows the powertrain to maximize the electric mode versus burning gas, which smooths out the drive feel while also conserving fossil fuel. Regenerative braking adds to the efficiency factor by capturing energy that would otherwise be lost and routing it to the battery.
Trims and Powertrain
There are four trim levels of the 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid: the Base, EX, EX-L, and Touring. Their hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, a pair of electric motors, and an electronic continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). Honda’s proprietary lithium-ion battery pack was developed without the use of overmined heavy rare-earth metals, lowering both cost and environmental impact. There are multiple drive modes (EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive) that the control system switches between seamlessly and automatically, so that the driver doesn’t even have to think about it. On the other hand, when the operator wants a specific driving experience, there are manually selectable modes for Sport, EV, and Econ that provide a distinct feel behind the wheel.
The total system output peaks at a segment-leading 212 horsepower and 232 pounds-feet of torque (also class-best). The base, EX, and EX-L are rated by the EPA to return 48 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway, while the Touring, which carries a bit more weight with all of its added features, gets about 44 city/41 highway.
The base is equipped with automatic LED low-beam headlights, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock (unlocks the doors without requiring you to use the key fob and locks them automatically in case you forget), HondaLink remote services, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button ignition, 12-volt power outlets, a front console USB port, a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback. The EX comes with full LED headlights, fog lights, heated side mirrors, a moonroof, a wireless smartphone charger, an extra USB port (located in the center console), a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and two second-row USB charge ports.
